“Listen Up – Elements of a Hearing Conservation Program”
Linda will discuss the requirement to do noise monitoring in a facility if you think you have a noise problem; the possibility of engineering the noise out, if not possible, what the steps are in developing a complete hearing conservation program including determining the noise levels, how much is too much noise according to OSHA, proper use of hearing protection, annual training requirement, what documentation needs to be completed, audiograms, the physical effects of noise on the body and OSHA’s outlook of why hearing conservation is so important.
As an Industrial Hygienist for the Bureau some of Linda’s duties include providing employers with onsite industrial hygiene consultation services; participate as an instructor at the Bureau’s – Ohio Center for Occupational Safety and Health (OCOSH), of which many classes have CEUs for various educational organizations; work with the various Safety Councils to promote our services and programs including Destination Excellence, a Drug-Free Work Place and Safety Intervention Grants.
Linda holds a BS and MS degree in Biology – Youngstown State University.
