 Our Mission
Progress Alliance is an alliance of government and business working together for economic development in Jefferson County to develop new business, assist and encourage growth of existing businesses, and provide employment for the area's skilled and vibrant workforce. Progress Alliance exists to spark and coordinate economic development activity in Jefferson County.
Our History
Progress Alliance was established in 1996 and is a program of the Community Improvement Corporation of the Steubenville, Ohio Area, a 501(c)6 non-profit development organization founded in 1963.
Our Services
Working closely with the state of Ohio and other funding sources, Jefferson County offers a competitive package for businesses looking to locate or expand within the county. The professional staff at Progress Alliance is available to assist businesses which want to take advantage of these incentives with the worry.
If you are looking to relocate to Jefferson County or thinking about expanding, please contact Progress Alliance to discuss low interest loans, tax credits, training dollars and local tax incentives. The Progress Alliance staff is skilled at assembling incentive packages for business as well as gathering labor market data and demographics.
There are no fees associated with the services provided by the professional staff at Progress Alliance. The work completed on a daily basis is all designed to help achieve the mission of the organization.
Our Funding
Roughly half our funding comes via annual payments from the CIC board members. Progress Alliance also receives funding from Jefferson County, the City of Steubenville, the City of Toronto, the village of Wintersville and Cross Creek Township. The business community is a big supporter of Progress Alliance. Private donors have contributed more than $1 million to support the organization.
