NETWORKING Many member businesses don’t take advantage of the many functions the Chamber hosts or discount the value of networking when in fact; this is by far one of the most important membership benefits. While it may look like it is merely socializing, the people you meet at the Chamber functions are incredibly valuable. Besides the fact that each one is a prospective customer, you are also meeting a network of people who you can turn to for advice, feedback, or input. If you are not comfortable in a networking setting, you may want to send a staff person who is comfortable. Have them put on a name tag, take plenty of business cards and contact the Chamber to have someone introduce that and show them around. You’ll be glad you did. Remember, it’s not who you know, it’s who you don’t and if you aren’t out there networking, chances are your competitor is.
AREA MAPS AND INFORMATION ADVERTISING The Chamber carries a supply of an area map that includes Jefferson County, Steubenville, and Toronto as well as demographic data, historical information, and county profiles. Member-investors are given the opportunity to purchase advertising on the map, which are distributed to visitors and local individuals.
INVESTOR DIRECTORY (click to access directory) This directory is a publication of the Chamber that lists contact information for members, both alphabetically and by business type. It is widely distributed and is a handy reference guide that also serves as a buyers guide. Advertising opportunities are available in this booklet for Chamber member-investors.
BROCHURE DISPLAY RACK The Chamber lobby is a high traffic area with visitors and business persons passing through continuously. The brochure rack is a no-cost way to distribute your literature and gain valuable exposure for your business.
INVESTOR ONLY REFERRALS Daily, the Chamber receives inquiries from residents and newcomers to the area that are researching a business, looking for a list of certain business types or simply trying to find out whom to call for a certain product or service. Our strict policy is to only refer Chamber member businesses.
SPONSORSHIPS OF EVENTS AND PROGRAMS The Chamber is always interested in allowing member businesses to sponsor or co-sponsor an event or function. Business after Hours is the premier event to open, re-open, or simply showcase your business in a unique and fun way. Other sponsorships include the Annual Meeting and Dinner, the Annual Golf Outing, the Annual Valentine’s Day Dinner, the Women’s Expo, the Member-to-Member Trade Fair, Business at Breakfast, Lunch and Learn, Holiday Open House, and the many other functions offered throughout the year.
RELOCATION AND VISITORS' PACKETS The Chamber answers, literally, hundreds of requests each month from people planning to visit or relocate to Jefferson County and the surrounding area. Each is mailed a visitor’s and relocation packet with brochures and various directories that only feature Chamber members. Keep the Chamber stocked with your literature. You’ll be glad you did.
